Namibia – Landscapes, Wildlife and People
Namibia is shaped by arid landscapes, wide horizons, and a close relationship between land, wildlife, and people.
From the dunes of the Namib Desert and the salt pans of Etosha to the remote riverbeds of the northwest, the country offers some of the most striking and varied environments in southern Africa. In contrast to the dry interior, the far northeast along the Kavango River and Caprivi region reveals a greener, wetter landscape of rivers, floodplains, and woodlands.
This page brings together photographic galleries from different regions of Namibia, focusing on landscape, wildlife, and everyday life. Alongside desert and savannah environments, the galleries include river systems and semi-arid mountains, as well as communities connected to these landscapes, including Himba and San people of the northwest and northeast.
Together, these galleries offer a visual overview of Namibia as a place — from arid desert to river-fed regions — independent of any single journey or route.
