Rare ceremonies & unique rituals
Karangasem, East Bali
Bungaya is a very old small village in the Karangasem regency of East Bali. On an ordinary day there is nothing special to see in this village. But wait when this so called Desa Adat, cultural village, holds one of its unique cultural events or ceremonies! You won't see anything like it elsewhere in Bali: unique ancient dances and spectacular ceremonial outfits. I've been fortunate to have witnessed some of these unique ceremonies. Here a general impression of the people in the village during such ceremonies.
