Kelimutu Crater Lakes Gallery

The Three-Coloured Crater Lakes of Central Flores

The crater lakes of Mount Kelimutu are among the most remarkable landscapes on Flores Island. Located in the highlands of central Flores, the volcano is famous for its three crater lakes whose colours shift over time due to volcanic minerals and gases beneath the surface.

At sunrise, mist and changing light often transform the appearance of the lakes, creating an ever-changing landscape.

This gallery presents a photographic exploration of Kelimutu National Park, including the crater lakes, surrounding forests and the mountain landscapes of central Flores.
