Wuring Fishing Village, Maumere – Photo Gallery

Bugis and Bajo stilt houses on the Bay of Maumere, Flores

Wuring is a traditional fishing village located on the shores of the Bay of Maumere in eastern Flores. Wooden stilt houses stretch out across the shallow coastal waters, forming one of the most distinctive maritime settlements on the island.

Home to Bugis and Bajo fishing communities, the village is defined by its wooden boats, narrow jetties and daily rhythm of life connected to the sea.

This gallery presents a photographic exploration of Wuring’s stilt houses, fishing boats and coastal life, with the volcanic slopes of Mount Egon rising in the background.
