Pinggan – Batur, Bali

Pinggan is a little village on the edge of the inner rim of the Batur Caldera and an increasingly popular spot to witness sunrise. The people of Pinggan grow all sorts of fruit, vegetables and flowers for offerings on the fertile soils of the Batur volcano.

From Pinggan you have a fantastic view over the entire Batur caldera, with the active Batur volcano, Lake Batur and in the distance the Gunung Agung volcano, the highest and most sacred mountain on Bali.
