Snakes, Lizards, Toads & Frogs - Sanda, Bali

I love them all, but snakes definitely beat others!

There are plenty of reptiles and amphibians around here, particularly toads, frogs and lizards are abundant. It took some time to find the first few snakes, but nowadays we see one every couple of days. I don’t usually like to handle any animal for a photo, but I must admit that with the snakes I sometimes use a snake hook. It’s often the only way to get a decent photo, and I’d like to use these photos also to educate the locals about which snakes are poisonous and potentially dangerous, and which ones are not. I also always explain the snake’s specific role in the ecosystem, and that killing them is really biting farmers back.
