Trunyan is an old Bali Aga village, on the shore of Lake Batur. The Bali Aga culture dates back to the pre-hindu time and is very rich with ancient rituals. The Bali Aga do not bury their dead; instead, they lay them to rest in the open air under a holy tree. The smell of tree is said to be so strong that you do not smell the slowly decaying bodies.
